Messy creative work space

Envisioned as a small business incubator, Make. Meld. Work. brings together messy creative light industrial studios with quiet and clean creative office. Retail is provided at street level to serve the tenants above.

A central atrium acts as a buffer between the loud and messy shop spaces and the quiet creative office spaces. Shared resources, like kitchens, printers, conference rooms, can be found in this central link. The atrium can act as extra shop space or a venue for events.

Rough board formed concrete is used for circulation and support spaces. The shop areas are clad in Sho sugibahn wood while the office space is reclaimed brick with a mortar washed layer.

Daylight in the shop area is cool and diffused to allow for consistent back drop for tactile work.
